ROUTE 2 IMPORTANT ALTERATION
ACS is pleased to be able to confirm that HCPC have approved a change to Route 2 and from 1st March 2017 we will be able to accept applications with no restriction concerning the length of experience claimed. That is, the ‘six year’ rule will no longer be applied.
However, the competencies that have to be demonstrated remain unchanged and this must be clearly understood. The ACS Executive and Board feel that it is very unlikely that applicants will be able to satisfy assessors should they have less than 4 years experience and it is vital that this includes sufficient clinical exposure in a working environment. Advice to applicants is available through their Professional Bodies.
The Guidelines for application and application form will be amended shortly to reflect this alteration.
