The Association of Clinical Scientists (ACS) is an inclusive organisation committed to fostering a culture where individual differences and diversity are welcomed and eliminating discrimination.  Our aim is that our Board members, assessors, team members and applicants feel respected, engaged, able to give their best and be representative of all sections of society.

To that end we commit to and comply with the Equality Act 2010, other relevant legislation and direction from the Health & Care Professions Council: providing equality and fairness for all Board members, assessors, team members, stakeholders, or those applying to be such, and our applicants; not discriminating on grounds of race, national origin, religion, belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy, maternity or paternity. We oppose all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination.

We recognise each person is an individual with visible and non-visible differences, celebrating and valuing these differences and by doing so ensuring we treat all fairly, with respect and value all for their contributions.

We commit to proactively foster an environment where diversity is valued, barriers to participation eliminated and everyone feels they belong and are able to contribute to their fullest potential, including but not limited to our application and assessment processes, the reviewing of application forms, material and conducting assessment interviews and in the setting of our direction and policy.

We recognise inclusion goes beyond the consideration of legally protected characteristics and in an organisation representing Clinical Science we will welcome, respect, listen and use the different perspectives and ideas that every one of our constituent member professional bodies, applicants and stakeholders brings to the ACS.
